Overview

For 200 years or so the pocket watch was the portable timepiece of choice, a must-have fashion accessory for every well-dressed gentleman along with a fob watch for his accompanying lady. 

More recently, with the overwhelming use of wristwatches, pocket watches have fallen out of favour as a fashion item but at the same time have become very popular with collectors.

Our quarterly specialist auctions encompass everything from early examples made of base metal and silver through to more complicated gold examples with repeating and calendar functions, often set with enamel and precious gemstones.
